Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Bottle. Poured amber with a thin fast dissipating head. Medium aroma with a bit of hop, and a bit of hay. Malty flavour with a good bitter edge. Rather flat finish, just drops of the table. And I must note that I didn’t notice any note, aroma or flavour of witch. But still a lekker session bitter or with a plate of fish and chips.

Absolutely no head with a nice amber color. The beer really does not stand out too much in any way. Not a bad beer to finish mowing the lawn with though.

Light amber color with a thin creamy off-white head. Aroma is lightly sweet and floral - a touch of honeysuckle? Flavor has a touch of malt on the start, but falls quickly to a more flat bitter flavor. Lightly creamy mouth, some honey tangerine and roasted marshmallows try hard to peek through, but the dry hop presence overpowers in the end. Not as bad as I remember from the last time I had this, but still a dissapointed recipe in an otherwise well-made beer.

Bottle. Not bad at all, quite pleasant on both the nose and palate, Little or no head or lacing, but quite full on taste, with slightly bitter hops predominating.

Bought just for fun. Crushed with Jakebra. Unfortunately not a good beer.

Pours from 16.9 oz bottle a cloudy amber with a medium sized, rapidly fading head. The aroma is light and smells mostly of malts with a touch of yeast and hops. The taste is dry and malty with a lightly bitter finish. Somewhat typical English beer, nothing too special here, sorry.

50cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear amber color with a one finger frothy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, ripe fresh fruit, some hops. Maybe some notes of honey, raisins, plums and syrup. Flavor is sweet malt and caramel at the beginning but transitions to somewhat sour malt and wet hay as I sample the pour. Light body with a generally watery mouthfeel. Somewhat sour, bitter finish. Lacks body and distinctive flavors.
