Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Pours amber with small creamy head. Malty grainy aroma with some woodiness and maybe a tad of hop fruitiness. Flavor is fairly weak with some grainy maltiness and bitter hops. Palate is dry and fades very quickly. Drinkable, but not what I look for in a good ESB.

5oomL bottle: Light amber, fizzy, decent head. Flavor is bitter, dry like grapefruit juice. Lends itself well to salted stuff. Refreshing and crisp.

500ml bottle from K-Citymarket, Vantaa, Finland. I didn’t come all the way to Helsinki just to find this beer, but it was a pleasant surprise to find it in the supermarket.

Gold with a loose white head; intense grapefruit aroma; sweet caramel body, thick and chewy with rich fruit - dates and figs; tghe finish is long and bitter but not overpowering. An excellent Yorkshire bitter.

Nice golden color with minimal head. Flavor was dry and slightly bitter with a nice lingering aftertaste. Overall this was a little more than I expected from this one.

Amber, rich head. Even aroma has rich and crisp hoppy bitterness. Surprisingly smooth considering the amount of hops. Refreshing, but not too exciting.

Appearance: copper with a low head. Aroma: Hoppy and grassy, good English hop character with some caramel. Flavour: Mildly assertive and clean bitterness. No malt or crystal malt character. Dry as a bone with some light diacetyl character. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, finishes (and starts) very dry. Overall: Clean and assertive with a goodly hop bitterness. little to no fermentation esters. Some good English grassy hop flavours. Refreshing good with a curry.

500ml from LC. Reddish yellow colour. Seems like an average but competent commerical Brit ale, maybe a notch better than the iffy ones but unmemorable. Less merchandising more character pelase.

Bottle. Amber colour with an off-white head. Malty aroma with some fruity notes. Malty, light hoppy taste. Short finish.
