| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Pours a yellow/orange colour with a white foamy head that leaves behind some sticky white lacing. Aroma of hops, and some sweet malt scents. Like the aroma the flavour is pretty straight forward, malt sweetness upfront, hop bitterness in the finish. Uninteresting, but well balanced, refreshing, would have gone good with a meal. Homebrewerguy (285), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2007 typical English bitter style beer, not too overwhelming in any way but well balanced for session drinking, The bottle says it was brewed in Masham, Yorkshire. carboloader (321), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Pours amber with large head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is malt -- some hops but thin in flavor and somewhat watery. Easy to chug. Not much complexity here. TheDog (360), Aarhus, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Bottle. Amber golden colour with white head. Aroma and taste of sweet malts, hops and a bit anise and other spice. Good carbonation, it doesn´t feel flat like similiar ESB´s. Great layout and text: Burned over tempered witches. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Had this beer on 7/7/2004. Aroma is a slightly sweet malt scent with a faint hint of hops. Color is a bright deep gold with good carbonation and a tight thin head. Taste is fizzy and sweet. Starting with a light body it goes down with a fizzy feel. Finish comes light on with a sweet maltness that reminds me a bit of the first home brew I ever made. This is backed by a very faint bitterness. Its a clean, fresh, easy drinking beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Pleasantly surprised. I usually don’t go for novelty beers - but Eric Idle went out and found a decent Ale! Nice and hoppy, spicy and flavorful! VeloVampire (490), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2007 500 ml bottle - pours a nice clear auburn with a foamy off-white head. Aroma fairly faint with some brown sugar, apples and a subtle hop presence. Flavour is where this one scores - though the body is slightly watery, there is a nice spiciness and a good hop backbone. Also, a minerally quality. Nice. There is enough malt and a faint smokiness that wraps up the package nicely. Not outstanding, but would be an excellent session brew. charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Poured a very light amber with a thin but persistant off-white head. Aroma was enticing with notes of fruit, malt and caramel. The taste was anticlimatic. Thin, malt character with a great amount of butterscotch and caramel. Little hop flavor or bitterness. Reminded me of Old Peculiar, just not as good.
