Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

poured darker golden with thinning white head and very slight malt aroma. Palate is ’british’ - flat and full on the tongue, flavor is mild and subdued with little hop flavor or bitterness.

500ml bottle. Deep golden orange in colour nestled under a crown of fluffy white foam. Aromas of apricot and hops hide a slight citrus sweetness. Lively in the mouth with a good balanced bitterness abd strong aftertaste.

I am glad to see that there is a beer that pays tribute to the great Monty Python, but it is a bit of a shame that it is not a better beer. I had the English import a couple of times and liked it, but the bottle I am rating was brewed in Rochester, NY, USA, and was not as good. Clear dark gold pour and a spotty head. Nice color and cute label. Lightly sweet, honey malt and yeast aroma. An easy drinker that is close to a lager, with a little hop tingle. This is a so-so brew that looks better than it tastes. At least it wasn’t so bad that it made me laugh.

12 oz bottle, pours an amber golden color, transparent, moderate head. Aroma is malty and fruity, very subtle. Flavor is bitter as advertised, not much depth. Kind of doughy like a pale lager. Palate is rough but very full and dry and satisfying.

Awkward aroma. Looks decent with a nice white head. The flavor is a little below average. Kind of sweet, a hint of fruitiness and some hops. Carbonation is actually pretty nice, but body is still fairly thin. Eh..
