webjedi (247), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA May 18, 2008 As Im a fan of ESBs, I may give this a pass as a cute gimmick if it wasn’t for Black Sheep being the brewers. Honey syrupy orange, full head (overly frothy when poured). Generally a good general ESB, malty, but not too sweet nor bitter, so it’s quite middle of the road. Pretty watery on the tongue, but still a bit of smoothness when in the mouth. Not the greatest, but not the worst I’ve had. (Bottle Pour 5/18/2008)
espenra (123), Oslo, Norway Oct 7, 2008 50cl bottle from ICA. It poured a slightly pale yellow colour with a big white creamy head that settled down slowly in the glass. The aroma smells of hops, pears and a hint of citrus fruits. The flavour is bitter and tastes of malts, and citrus fruits. It has a medium long aftertaste. At first I thought this was just another gimmick beer, but I was pleasantly suprised by both the aroma and the flavour. joebudzjoe (112), Connecticut, USA Oct 4, 2008 Draft @ Monster B’s. This beer kinda grossed me out. Thinly flavored but the palate felt slightly poisonous. I paid for it, so I finished it. blipp (809), Grand Island, New York, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours gold with an off white head. Wheaty aroma with cherry and lemongrass. The flavor is sweet and fruity, almost cherry. Nice. puboflyons (385), New Hampshire, USA Sep 26, 2008 Sampled at a beer tasting at Barb’s Beer Emporium in Concord, N.H. I sampled what was described to me by the Distributor as the U.S. contracted recipe from High Falls Brewery in New York. It poured from a 12 fl. oz. bottle in a yellowish color. I noted a mild aroma of malts. Medium mouth feel. Slightly bitter but overall mild and not terribly bad. WesKBob (162), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Sep 21, 2008 Pours a medium amber with a thin white head. Aroma was light, with hints of sickly sweetness (caramel malt and maybe a bit of molasses). Flavor is somewhat bready and sweet malts. But it really does just taste skunky, like an American lager. Thin and watery. This ended up being a drainpour for me. Even if you’re a Monty Python fan, don’t be suckered in by the marketing gimmicks.
