Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

A light amber pour with a nice white head, and some lacing. The nose is faint and hard to detect, while the flavor is nice and crisp. Could be better, but for a novelty named brew, it’s a little better than I would have guessed.

Bottle (500ml). Poured a golden orange with a averaged sized frothy, white head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of spicy/earthy English hops (mild) with butterscotch, toffee malts, sweet biscuits, orange citrus, tangerines and some honey. Flavor was a light grassy hop bitterness with floral notes, dry biscuity malts, English marmalade, orange citrus, some honey, light notes of toffee and a spicy finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry spicy mouthfeel and a good finish.

pint bottle- poured out a dark gold color with a minimal and short lived white head. The aroma had a hint of pumpkin. Taste was unremarkable in all respects. Had a less than pleasant bitter finish. A loser.

0,5l bottle .White thick head, brown copper color, really hard to distinct anything particular on the smell, quite neutral. Taste is gently bitter but abit bland, propably drinking this abit too cold. Overall not bad but there’s lots of better choices for similar experience.

Bottle.Yellow and clear with some bitterness. No carbonation and slightly bitter.Medium body. I am always aware of novelty beers.Perhaps if it had been labelled something else I would have scored it higher.
