Caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts and a dark fruitiness waft up from the glass, an inviting beginning. Smooth medium body with a complementary light effervescence, and a soft dry palate combine for a nice mouthfeel. Flavors of burnt sugar and spicy hops balance well. There’s a sharp bitterness at the finish, but not at all objectionable. HarryFlashman (469), Chatham, Kent, England

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2008 aroma of malts and bananas. brown body with some carbonation w/ a small light brown head. taste of malts ,roasted nuts, a bit of coffee and yeast. palate is the only thing that bugs me about it as it is a bit hoppy on the finish. this is a good winter beer.
...on a side note, let this one warm up a bit before drinking. Much better as it gets warmer.
