Wow Big head. Bubble texture. Creamy Rich smoky flavor. Mouthful is sweet and biter at the same time and it leaves this bubbly feeling when its gone

Brown color, with a beige head, leaving laces, toasty malt nose, with a hint of malt roastiness, some nutty, toffee accents, with a subtle fruity aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty, nutty character, with some mild roasted coffee bean and toffeeish flavors, with a faint peppery floral hop note, leading towards a malty, leafy, minty hop bitterness finish.

Bottle from the LCBO- Pours a mahogony/deep brown liquid beneath a foamy beige froth. Nice lace and retention. Milk chocolate and yeast are the main aromas, some fruit, a touch of roasted malts, brown sugar. Pretty sweet and malty, some good chocolate flavours, coffee, kinda nutty sweet. Finishes a touch thin and probably a little too sweet for me.

Bottle. Awesome deep scarlet/brown appearance. Aromas of cocoa powder and toffee. Average coffee-ish flavour gets more intense towards the middle, with an accompanying swell of chocolate, then finishes poorly into a watery palate. Bigger would have been better.

2009-02-05. Brown body with a modest khaki head. (3+) Interesting aroma, light metallic notes over dry malt, earthy notes. (6+) Similar flavour, dry malt with light bitterness, finishes very lightly astringent. Earthy character. Average plus palate. Decent but I am not sure it is one I would return to. 6+/3/6/3/14 Bottle from LCBO

Jan 2008. Bottle from the LCBO. Dark amber tinged brown body with a good sized pillowy off white head. (4+) Dusty, toasty malt aroma of scorched caramel, earthy undertones. Similar flavour with an earthy chestnut character, malty, toffee sweetness with moderate malty base. Something odd about the overall impression is off putting to me. It grows on me as the glass goes on but I just can’t really get into it. Smooth slightly fuller than average palate. Slight ’grabby’ astringency at the back of the throat. Well crafted but not really to my tastes. 6/5/6/3/13 - 3.3

This is a bit of awright, innit? Tons of burnt, chocolatey malts in the nose and flavour, some licorice, fruity notes and perhaps bread. Very trad porter, like a lighter and sweeter Guinness.

Very nice malty aroma, dark brown - cola like - with a bit of toffee. My only complaint was with the aftertaste - some hops, but a bit of an unusual kick that made me think that this particular bottle might have been a bit "overripe".
