500ml bottle. Pours a deep dark mahogany colour, with a large beige head. Aroma: really nice roasted malts, a touch of hops, but really just nice roasty malts. It smells really good actually. Taste: All malt, starts off with some coffee/caramel, then roastyness, followed by a touch of smoke. Very sweet, with a slightly dry finish. It’s almost like a schwarzbier to be honest, with a touch more sweetness and slightly less dryness. For something only at 5.7% abv, it actually seems to have an alcoholic kick to it, which is a bit odd. Over-all a very nicely put together brew, I love the roasted malts, it’s been a while since I’ve had something like this.

500 mL bottle. Malty aroma of molasses with a hint of coffee. Pours a clear dark brwn with a frothy off-white head. Flavour is very nice and malty, the mildly sweet molasses and coffee coming out again. Finish is a moderate bitterness. A very enjoyable winter beer.

500 ml bottle - pours a deep chestnut with a two-finger off-white head. Very nice aromas of hazelnut, plum, earthy hops and some alcohol. Flavour filled with roasty malt with an undercurrent of sourness as well. Some warming alcohol at the back of the throat. Very soft in the mouth with a chalky and bitter finish. Exceptionally well-made old ale.

Large foamy off white head. Malt and molasses smell with a medium body. The mild sweet malt flavor is a little overwhelmed by the bitter and its not all that bitter. Still it’s a nice beer and I like that the head was still there at the last drink.

Bottle. Nice dark copper, medium tight foamy head. Nice nutty, smoke, malt aroma. Great foamy medium mouthfeel. Good taste - very roasty with some hops, especially in finish. Almost smooth and very drinkable. Complex. Excellent strong/old English ale.

500ml bottle: Pours a deep chestnut ale with shimmering ruby highlights in the glass. Decent sticky 2 finger cap..lasts, laces well. Aroma: Figs, cocoa, earthy tones Flavor: Rich, malty, some complexity of dried fruits-nuts-aromatic tobacco-cocoa, lush earthyness....finish is drying, and lightly bitter with some black malt astringency. A very nice strong which hides its alcohol has a silky mouth feel and is both drinkable and satisfying

Bottle Very dark maroon pour with great creamy head. Aroma of roasted malt and a brandyish hint. Slightly more complex flavor, more roasted malt and a bit of hop.
