(bottle) Pours dark caramel, with a huge smoooooth and creamy off-white head. Notes of roasted malts and iron (?). Plesant dry bitterness, longlasting. Overall OK!

I noticed the pic on ratebeer be rockin the Schieder Aventius glass. (o_O) Not too shabby of a brew. Just took the last sip wrapping up the movie Identity. First of all, let’s set something straight. Yorkshire Terriers are not cool dogs. The dig holes in linoleum and bark at dust. Nice dark amber copper pour with a blooming head. Kinda streamlined English Ale. Some distinctive flavours do become present such as roasted malts with a twist of barley. I even felt a bit of a citrus tinkle tossed in there though wasn’t sure. I wouldn’t mind starting out on this in a decent pub and moving on into more of a "song" type of beer. Like in Human Traffic...the new English national anthem. how rad!.....oh a side note that i just noticed after rating. They’ve got a bloody Ram on its back playing like some dog wanting you to rub its belly. I’ve been to the feckin mountains...no ram want’s you to rub it’s belly. trust me!

A Mes rate: Not overly impressed to be honest. Aroma is a little funky but not in a good way like a decent gueuze. Slight hint of alcohol in there too. The flavour to me is just a typical one dimensional English ale with the pasturisation being all to apparent with plenty of iron filings in there. Looks wise it is ok, a red-brown body but with a crappy head. Finish is shortish with more iron. Yeah not too great. Amazed it gets such a generous figures from the top raters.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Dark Ruby. Aroma of earthy, nutty malt, roast barley, chocolate, spice, orangey hops. Excellent body, long finish. Well rounded and enjoyable.

Sampled at Charlotte Oktoberfest ’05. Brown coloring with a big off-white head. This was creamy and sweet with a muted hoppy finish. Good.

Bottle. Poured a dark amber with a moderate off-white head that diminished slowly. Complex malty and fruit aroma. Medium body with creamy texture. Full well balanced flavor with small sweet finish.

Bottle: Dark amber coloured, medium off-white lacing head; malty and fruity nose, a bit vinous, traces of liquorice and roasted malts; dry malty taste, leading to an also dry, slightly bitter (chocolatey) finish. A goodie, especially in winter........

Sampled at Brew Ha Ha 2005. I was very looking forward to this, but my expectations were unfortunately not met. Poured red-brown with no head. Aroma of pineapple, caramel, toffee and a bit of molasses. Flavor seemed to have a lot of peat and toasted rye bread, mildly sweet chocolate malt. Decent, but nothing spectacular.
