pours a nice mohogany/red with off white creamy head. Aromas of green banana + hops, a bit yeasty, caramel like maltiness. Flavour is intensely malty upon first taste. With a lingering herbal quality. Finish is a bit peppery licorice.

A nice red-brown-black in color depending on the angle; another beer where the contents don’t match the appearance. Pale beginning goes into metalli coating and too-sweet-porterish finish.

All a strong dark ale should be really. The toasty malt brings flavours of thick chocolates, licorice and coffee. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. The flavour lingers deeply on the back of the tongue. A good un.

500 ml bottle. Copper brown colour with a frothy and rocky off-white head. Toffee, light chocolate, and metallic aroma. Caramel, lightly acidic flavours with a fruity and metallic bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, finishing dry and lightly astringent.

dark copper color, foamy off-white head, nice lacing. Smells roasted with nutty notes and a hint of fruitiness. Flavor is nice with the roasted malt & nut flavor finishing off with hop bitterness. Verrry nice for a bottled beer. Feels like the alcohol content is higher than stated...YESS

Bouteille, Sommerville, Dowtown Liquors, Juin 2005

Auburn color, light carbonation, nice layer of thin froth at top of glass. Rroasted malty aroma and taste, initial sweetness around the tongue followed by a burnt toastiness at the back of it.
