A quick whiff of alcohol in the aroma disappears quickly with nary a trace leaving behind a malty, chocolate, nutty aroma with some fruity, grape-like notes. Clear burnished copper coloured with generous and lasting off-white head that laces beautifully. Salty, smokey, deep and malty with some chocolate, nutty and licorice notes and a fair roasty bitterness. Creamy and thick in the mouth with engaging carbonation to keep the tongue interested. Bottle. Thanks, JoeMcPhee.

This is a great dark beer. Great aroma and good bite yet still smooth enough to enjoy over and over again!

Dark ruby/brown colour. Roast malt aroma with some coffee accents. Flavour is fruity and nutty with some hop bitterness and hints of dark chocolate. there’s also a tang that nods in the direction of an old ale. Good balance and rich mouthfeel. Somehow, though, and I’m not entirely sure why, I didn’t find this beer all that exciting even though all the elements were pretty good. 500ml pasteurised bottle.

Pours a dark brown, foamy off-white head. Aroma is malt and coffee. Flavor is dark and roasted, reminds me of a porter. Very nice. Thanks to Heemer for this one.

Not a bad brew. Deep red body with nice beige head. Complex nose of fruit, nuts, hops, yeast, candy. Good full body. Taste is a nice hoppy bitterness without being too sharp. Sweet and malty. Some fruit and nuts. Interesting.

Dark amber ale with little head. Has a weak aroma with burned malt and nuts and something metallic. Roast malt also dominates the flavour with a long dry aftertaste.

A fine ale. Dark brown in color with ruby-amber highlights with a thick, lasting white head. Rich, roasted malt aroma and flavor with sugared-coffee and caramel notes. Thin in body, but not unpleasantly so, it builds to a mildly hoppy and bittersweet finish. A very good looking beer, well balanced. Tasty.
