| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2008 Updated: Sep 22, 2008A Mes rate: bottle from Sainsburys. It’s 9:09 am and I’m downing this in an attempt to calm my neves before I get on the plane to Barcelona. It has to be said this is a good looking beer. It’s an awesome orange amber colour with a very stable medium sized white head. Aroma is burnt caramel malt with some earth and sugar. Decent start actually and better than I was expecting. The flavour is more of the same and again pretty decent but where the hell are the hops? Ok they are just about there in the finish providing a little bite and a faint bitterness. Palate is overly stinging and does not help me do what I want to right now which is to down it. Actually it’s not bad you know. Well it’s better than I expected. Rich malty notes give some decent bread and cake flavours. Overall a decent drop just too gassy.
