(On tap) Clear, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. A bit unusual for the style with a filtered Dubbel. Complex, vinous aroma with touches of rum and yeast. Medium body with some delicious malty accents and complex, fruity notes. A bit of yeast and diacetyl, but this remains a very nice beer throughout. 300306

On tap at the brewpub. This was a pleasant surprise....translucent dark amber color...minimal head. Sweet malt aroma...spices and the like....quite nice. Full bodied and quite tasty. Lotsa yeasty goodness....bananas, alcohol tinge, candy maltball sweetness. Not much to dislike with this one!

Tap @ brewery. Hugely transparent and mega-magnifying, orangish-brass in color, and nearly fiery in appearance. A creamy, thin, off-white, horseshoe-shaped thing maintains the head. Candi sugar is in the aroma from the get-go. Some cotton candy and bananas fried in brown sugar surge forth, along with plastic squeeze toys, nutmeg and cloves. A fairly impressive nose, and it keeps the momentum into the flavor. Well pronounced oily interlude, with banana crème radiating throughout. Cinnamon and nutmeg aid a sweet spice regime while a tiny touch of pepper spices slightly. Alcohol camisole isn’t fully masked, but a bubblegum sugariness with a pecan pie flavor hang around post-sip to cover its tracks. Complex, flavorful palate feel, with an oily stream that lays a waxy layer. Nutmeg and pepper spice the tongue’s tip in the finish, and is well met with brown banana bread a natural vanilla accent. Very well done!
