On tap at Nashville’s Music City Brew Festival. Definitely one of the weaker pale ales at the festival. Descent look but pretty bland aroma and flavor. Some corn notes that I wasn’t too happy about.

Pours a straw yellow color with a white head. Aroma is vanilla, malty, honey, and some earthy hops. Flavor is honey, vanilla, floral, slightly fruity, and a bitter grassy finish.

Sampled at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition festival. Pours bright yellow / gold with a snow white head. The aroma is grainy, grassy and clean pils style malt. Medium / light crisp refreshing body with full semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor begins much like the aroma with a touch of must and minor mineral traits. Good beer.

Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Golden yellow with a cream white finger of head. Heavy malts, grainy and caramels a pinch of hops in the aroma. Body is very sweet and candy apples, some hops but not enough to pinch off the finish. Re-rate: On tap at the brewpub. Pale golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is basic sweet pale lager, pils malt, hay. Taste is pale sweet malts, lightly grassy bitter. Original rating: 7:4:6:3:14

2009 Tap at Nashville brewery. Definitely my favorite kolsch, possibly my favorite lager. Remarkably complex for a lager, the aroma is of much citrus, malts, and sugars, perhaps cloyingly so. Looks very light gold with very little head. The flavor is most excellent and complex. Malts with lemon zest and orange peel, perhaps a hint of alcohol flavor. Very, very good.

Clear pale golden yellow with thin white head. Not much for the aroma at all. Flavor is lightly bitter and buttery. Nothing much to it at all.
