Clear, medium light gold. Crisp. Moderately tart, well-hopped. Lingering bitterness in a hoppy zing of a finish. Crackery. Hairofthedog (419), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 17, 2006 The aroma had spicey hops, malts, and slight alcohol esters. The beer poured a pee yellow color w/ thin lasting head and slight lacing. The flavor had malts, spicey hops, you know... it was kinda like a glorified budweiser. The mouthfeel was light and creamy. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 13, 2006 Looks like a bmc product, fizzy and yellow. Smells of straw honey and raspberry. Acidic brick like bitter taste with a lemon meringue note. I think I tasted lemons or limes in every beer from here, is it house yeast or am I going crazy and about to start seeing lemons and limes everywhere?

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2006 Bottle, and then on tap at the brewery the next day. Transparent, magnifying pale gold in color with an oily white ice sheaf and a creamy white wrung for the head. Golden sweet corn and Kellogg’s corn flakes greet the nose, matched with starchy potatoes, lemon buttered baguettes and freesia. Sweet Kolsch flavor traits take on toasted corn chex. Mild carbonation supports a lemon buttered biscuit characteristic. Starchy pils malt feeling refreshes while a small Hallertrau spice takes a subdued swing at the tongue. Crescent rolls meet croissants. Light, easy going, and well suited to the Tennessee beer hell that I found myself caught in. Very cleansing and lemon-like, with only the mildest soapy accent. I liked it even a smidgeon better on tap - the hop profile was more pronounced and the beer itself gelled together more cohesively. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jan 29, 2006 From bottle. Pours a dark yellow, with small white head and decent lace. Nose is subtle, with raunchy malts and some metallic. This beer has almost no taste, maybe a little malt sweetness, but leaves some more metallic in the aftertaste. Good thing I split the bottle. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Thanks to Beer_Hawk for this one. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Lousey malt nose, somewhat metallic. Not big on flavor, just some light malt. Not bad or good. Cletus (5059), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 22, 2006 Thanks to beer_hawk for this bottle. Pours gold with a thin prevelant white head. Smells of oranges, sugar, straw, some lemons. Taste is slightly citrussy with lemons and oranges being the prevailing characteristics. Finishes tangy and a bit soapy. Very good for the style. awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

I guess they brew it to appeal to those who like standard American macrobrews. I realize that macrobrews aren’t really done in the Kolsch style, but to me these are comparable. While I’m not a fan of those, this was a pretty good beer, with more flavor than I would have guessed.
