Remarkably complex for a lager, the aroma is of much citrus, malts, and sugars, perhaps cloyingly so. Looks very light gold with very little head. The flavor is most excellent and complex. Malts with lemon zest and orange peel, perhaps a hint of alcohol flavor. Very, very good. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Aroma is fruit mash, malt and grassy/hay like hops. Golden in color with a quickly diminishing white head. Earthy hay tasting fore...which doesn’t sound good, but is. Very low hop presence. Has a mild poundacke and citrus flavor toward the middle and finish. I didn’t expect much, based a previous beer from this brewer, but this is very tasty..though narrow. awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Pretty decent beer. I guess they brew it to appeal to those who like standard American macrobrews. I realize that macrobrews aren’t really done in the Kolsch style, but to me these are comparable. While I’m not a fan of those, this was a pretty good beer, with more flavor than I would have guessed. CaptBier (303), Birmingham, Alabama, USA

Nice balanced flavor between light malt and very light hops. A decent AMERICAN style Kolsch. ratman197 (3248), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Flavors of straw and light citrus with a crisp dry lightly bitter finish. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Sampled at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition festival. Pours bright yellow / gold with a snow white head. The aroma is grainy, grassy and clean pils style malt. Medium / light crisp refreshing body with full semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor begins much like the aroma with a touch of must and minor mineral traits. Good beer. kwoeltje (1325), Manchester, Missouri, USA
