Aroma of wet coffee grounds. Medium bodied with average carbonation, and a slight milkiness to the texture. This is a nice, non-aggressive coffee stout with melded flavors of mild roast coffee, black patent malts, caramel, and unsweetened chocolate. Bitterness is just right, keeping this nice and balanced. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Black in the glass with a thick creamy tan head that left thick lace. Nice coffee and chocolate aromas. The flavor follows the same as the aroma. Medium to full body, smooth and creamy, coffee aftertaste. Very decent stout and a new favorite for me from Blackstone. curly (715), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Draft pour at Woody’s. Beer is solid black with a thick creamy milkshake looking brown head that leaves great lace. Aroma is mild vanilla and slight chocolate or coffee. Bitter roast coffee taste and good coffee aftertaste. Could be a little thicker to support the bitterness. Great beer though. Butters (1653), Virginia, USA

Pours a very dark brown with decent brown head that fades. Massively coffee infused aroma and flavor with a good bit of roastiness. A pleasant chocolate sweetness is left on the palate. I found the body to be medium and a soft silkiness on the finish. The best blackstone I’ve had. And I don’t even like coffee! nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Poured a dark black with a one finger brown head. The aroma was strong with roasted malt and coffee. The flavor was well balanced and had a bitter coffee finish. The body was a bit thin, but otherwise, this was a well conceived, well executed coffee stout.
