Beer_Hawk (759), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Jul 16, 2008 Draft. A cloudy orange in color in the glass with a creamy white head that left thick lacing. A nice spice and citrus aroma. The flavor found wheat and clove rounded out with a citrus mix. Light body and even carbonation. Another decent local hefe.
BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jul 31, 2008 Very cloudy golden pour, and a small white head. Lemon zestiness in the nose, lots of citrus. Very yeasty, diaper wipes, followed by some off balance spices, the banana has an overripe smell, right before they get really brown. Some cereal maltiness lingers into the finish. Not bad, but could use a bit of tweaking. illinismitty (1449), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 18, 2007 Updated: Jul 22, 2007Draft at brewpub. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with a thin white head. Estery yeast aroma of banana and citrus. Body and texture is dead on for the style. Initial flavor of wheat malt, yeast, and pineapple. The spicy notes of clove and pepper come out mid palate. Sweetness is not as aggressive as other hefes, which brings out the spiciness and some wit like qualities. Mild yeast and lemony finish. Another good session beer from my go to local brewpub. acrdz (4364), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 18, 2006 Draft at the brewery, August 2006. The appearance is properly cloudy, with a soft yellow hue, almost wit-like in appearance. Very spicy and yeasty up front, peppery, with soft mango and pineapple flavors, and a mild-to-medium level of tartness. A bit of a sweaty nose, but mostly consisting of peppery yeast scents, and light citrus fruit. Texture is moderately rich for a hefeweizen, syrupy even, but not in a bad wa. Overall it’s a pretty good hefeweizen, but has some vegetable-like off-flavors (light) in the finish. Suttree (2335), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 1, 2005 Cloudy yellow, big white head. Big pineapple and banana aroma. Spicy, peppery notes mix with fuity esters. Rally fruity as it warms. Finishes with some mild hop notes as well as some lemon notes. Bonus points for not serving it with a lemon, btw. Tasted at the brewpub.
