Commercial Description:
Our most popular brewmaster special brought back by overwhelming requests. A classic British nut brown ale. Full bodied, complex and interesting yet mild in flavor. Our interpretation of this style has distinctive hop aroma and flavor. (O.G.-1.052, IBUs 23)

Draft sample at SBGF07. Poured dark brown color with a medium off-white frothy head that diminished slowly and had good lacing. Moderate toasted malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

Rating 1057, On tap at the brewery in Nashville TN. Listed simply as the Nut Brown Ale and in the description it mentions that it is a "Classic Nut Brown Ale." Clear ruby with a thin rim of head that is tan. Nose is thin with some grains but lagerish. Watery. Taste has lots fo grains and malts pretty typical brown/dark fruit taste. Pleasant.

5/10/2007: Blackstone English-Style Brown Ale (neck label reads "Nut Brown Ale") pours out a brown color that is mostly clear with traces of suspended sediment. The head is frothy and foamy, beige in color, and has a average size and retention period. The aroma is toast and a soft, mellow, buttery English maltiness accented by some nutty and chocolate scents. The flavor contains toasted, roasted malts, and is slightly nutty. There is a balancing bitterness that surfaces midway into the roasty finish. This beer has a medium body and mouthfeel, but is slightly watery in the finish. There is also a touch too much carbonation. This is a good and drinkable beer, but nothing special.

12 oz bottle (Best Before 04607FX) via trade with decaturstevo. Thanks again Steveo!

12oz bottle. Served 46F in snifter. Mahogany in colour. Head dissipates in less than a minute. Aroma of chocolate and leather. Thin on the palate and a bit more carbonated than I care for with long aftertaste of charred coffee. Gorgeous color but aftertaste is a bit cloying.
