Commercial Description:
Our most popular brewmaster special brought back by overwhelming requests. A classic British nut brown ale. Full bodied, complex and interesting yet mild in flavor. Our interpretation of this style has distinctive hop aroma and flavor. (O.G.-1.052, IBUs 23)

Cask. A big creamy light tan head on a dark brown body. Grainy malty smell. Nothing spectacular here, a nutty clean malt flavor with a touch of lingering bitterness. Nice creamy feel in the mouth but somehow feels a bit light bodied.

For me this is a local brew. I like this because the flavor is slightly bitter with a delightfully sweet aftertaste.

Cask at Nashville Blackstone Restaurant. Poured dark brow, ruby highlights. Nose is malty. Flavor is smoky, nutty, malty, chocolatey. Finish is nicely hopped. Soft, delicate mouthfeel.

This thing poured a nice dark color with a good sized head. I wanted to try this one first since Browns are easily my second favorite beer to drink. This one did not disappoint. A smooth flavorful brew that I am very happy to have tried.

Bottle from Beer_Hawk; Thanks! Nose is sweet caramel and roastiness; clear walnut with a small tan head, that left really quickly; flavor has some hop bitterness, caramel malt, and walnuts in the flavor. The hops disappear and the finish is sweetness.

Bottle in the States. Just a boring a beer. Nothing makes me want to try it again. Not remotely the same quality of beers sampled in northern England as the label claims.

A slightly hazed dark brown pour. A flavor of sweet caramel malt. A light bitter finish. A very balanced sweet yet bitter beer. Good to decent mouthfeel with light carbonation. A very good drinker.

Color is nut brown, as one might expect. Flavor is nutty, as one might expect. Nice creamy, malty bready flavor. Sampled at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, 2006.
