Oct 8, 2006 Bottle (6’er) from Harris Teeter in Belle Meade. This beer is legit, though maybe overrated. Great body, pretty sweet (like a honey brew), can’t find the nutty flavor many talk about. Great level of carbonation, which is a very important aspect to me. Good mid-level micro.

Sep 11, 2006 I’ve had the draught and the bottled. Definitely sweet from the beginning and a slight toasted flavor. Finish leaves a very sweet taste for a brown ale. Ok.

href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>piscator34, thanks Kris. Dull brown in colour, quickly dissipating tan coloured head, no lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, some caramel malts, toasty, light chocolate. The flavour is highly sweet, some toffee, nutty, very light roasted malts. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes quite sweet, lingering. Other then being too sweet for my tastes there is nothing wrong with this.

Aug 18, 2006 Draught at the brewery, August 2006. Dark brown color, with some chill-haze present. Typical appearance for a brown ale. Sweet up front, turning immediately bitter from a burnt wood and burnt nut flavor... which is actually really nice. Strong roasted honey noticed, with some very light nut notes, with light char and toasted bread. Good stuff overall, strong and lively on the tongue.

Aug 5, 2006 12oz bottle. Filtered with a deep garnet hue. White ring of head. Coffee and toffee nose. Cocoa and buttery. Full and sweet malts. Cola pruny. Chocolate and cocoa. Sticky finish. Biscuit toasty. Dry finish.

Jun 26, 2006 Gift from Aurelius on his travels. 12 oz bottle - pours a dark copper color, light, off-white head. neutral aroma with some fresh lake water accents if you try really hard. Flavor has some toffee notes, some nuttiness and a slight touch of chocolate in the back end. Medium thick mouthfeel - but metallicizes in the end. Has potential. Had this on vacation at the beach - Cape San Blas, Fl.

Jun 23, 2006 Bottle. Smells like rank dry poo. Don’t ask me how I know that, but I do. It tastes like Gh-ro-ss vinegar wearing a beer disguise.
