Pours copper with a soapy tan head. The aroma has sweet toasty malt, nuttiness and overall clean smoothness. Medium crisp body with light carbonation. The flavor starts like the aroma, but is a bit metallic and medicinal. Surprising amounts of hoppiness that clash with the malts that typically predominate amber ales. Aroma of strong hops with a light maltiness. Dark orange-brown with not much head. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jan 1, 2009 Clear red amber pour with little head. Sweet malty toasty aroma. Flavor has a touch of alcohol and a a weird hop flavor. Lingering bitter finish. Average. Bleh.
