Commercial Description:
An American style amber ale which has its roots in a British ale called a "Bitter". However, this Ale is truly an American microbrewery style, with American hops which have a more floral aroma. Also the finish hops in an American style amber ale are more pronounced. (O.G. - 1.050 IBUs-29)

(On tap) Clear amber colour with an off-white head. Lovely aroma of fruity hops and a touch of caramel. Medium-bodied with some caramel, but generally dominated by some great aroma hops all through. 300306

Draft at the brewery, August 2006. Clear dark copper and brown colored body. Nose is a nice woody cedar hop and marachino cherry mixture, with some sweet maple and some more "dusty" cedar scents. Peppery, decently bittter, with a proper sweetness thoughout to compliment. Light melon and marachino cherry flavors, with a crisp, tinny texture. Lively, rusty, overall it’s an OK beer, but nothing spectacular.

Described as an American bitter really sort of a cross between an amber ale and a mild IPA. Reddish brown with a small head. Good lacing. Slightly nutty aroma with hints of pine, herbs, and plum. Bitter twang with a hint of sweetness on the tongue, nice. Shorter finish (dry)compared to the Blackstone IPA. Light on palate with lively mouthfeel. Hard to define this brew but still good.

On tap at flying Saucer. This amber ale pours a medium amber color. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and sweet. Medium bodied amber ale. Malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good balance. It pretty much you BJCP standard brewpub amber. Totally to style, well made, but nothing special. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Two 5 oz samples, one draft, one cask. Bright red. Pretty even malt with no bitterness. On cask, however, this blossoms into a really bountiful hoppy beer that was really, really flavorful. What an example of how cask can differ from draft.

Pours an amber with a small off-white head with thick lacing. Floral hop aroma. Extreme hoppy biting flavor with a creamy finish. Medium-bodied and dry palate.
