Tap at brewpub: Mahogany hue with a small frothy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of plum, chocolate, caramel, smoke, grassy and herbal hops, and a hint peaty. The taste is sweet and twangy with just enough bitterness. Light spice and earthy finish. The mouth feel is sprite and sharp, smooth finish and medium-bodied. A nice brew and very drinkable.

On tap: Pours a dark red with a little head. The aroma is musty with hints of chocolate, peat, and vanilla. I almost mistook this for a stout due to the heavy chocolate presence in the flavor. This is a pretty nice beer with suggestions of oats, caramel, vanilla, and after a few sips I was getting a serious meaty quality. I could drink a few of these.
