Sep 8, 2007 Draft sample at SBGF07. Poured dark brown color with a medium off-white fizzy head that mostly lasted and had good lacing. Moderate toasted malty aroma. Medium to full body. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Not a good style for hot day.

Jun 30, 2007 RBSG 2007: Poured dark brown with a tan head. Aroma, coffee, roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate. Flavor, roasty coffee, chocolate, some sweetness, with an earthy bitter finish. Not bad.

Jun 20, 2007 Rating 1061, On tap at the brewery in Nashville TN. Heavy ruby clear. No head but great brown lacing. Nose is thin and malty. Taste is strong malts, oatmeal and chocolate. For the style this is very good. However, I really dislike the style hence my lower than average rating.

Feb 13, 2007 Updated: May 1, 2008Re-rate. On cask, Nashville Blackstone Restaurant. Poured dark brown, medium tan head., ruby highlights. Roasty, spicy nose, hint of floral hops. Flavor is roasty malt, with a nice hop balance leading to a mildly bitter finish. Wonderfully soft mouth feel, typical of cask-conditioned ales. In contrast, the tap version of this porter felt a bit thin.

Dec 5, 2006 Had on draft. A nice aroma of malts.Had a nice rich chocolate taste to it with a hint of vanilla. It was very drinkable and went down smooth.
