Draft at brewery. This overall rating is spot on...this beer is good. I’m usually not a huge Porter drinker, but I could throw these back all night. Good chocolate coloring, nice lacing, smooth, chocolatey taste. NICE

Bottle from Beer_Hawk. Pours a dark brown, opaque color with a small tan head and medium lasting lasting. Aroma is weak and kind of watery with slightly roasty hints coming through. Flavor is not bad but kind of blah. Very watery without any coffee or chocolate goodness to note. Very smooth on the palate but still watery. Not a bad beer, just lacking the robustness I look for in a porter.

Draft at the brewery, August 2006. Dark brown, typical porter appearance. Sweet, chalky, dry wood and chocolate flavors, even some coffee in there as well. Has the requisite sweetness, like brown ale, but more of the classic brown porter style, which is always nice to see. Strong with the charred malt flavors, decently hopped, moderately dry. Oaky, even. Coffee and chocolate in the finish, with some milk notes as well. Texture is moderately thin for the style, slightly syrupy in the lingering finish, though.

Pours with a dark brown body topped by a thin to medium thck head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a slight roasty/smokey note and a little chocolate. The flavors seem very subdued. Medium bodied and smooth.

Bottle thanks to Dickinsonbeer at the last HW Open House. I’ve held onto the notes for this beer for a while because I wasn’t completely sure of the name and had to wait for Paul to enter it. Dark brown color with a small tan head. Mild roasted malt aroma with a little toffee. The flavor was also pretty mild, with some roasted malts, toffee and chocolate. A bit on the thin side.

22 oz. bomber about 3 weeks past "best by date" - via trade with Beer_Hawk - Pours a brown color with a faint off white head. Has a light roasted malt aroma and flavor. Light to medium body. I would like to try a fresh bottle of this beer sometime. Thanks Steve
