Commercial Description:
Blanche De Brooklyn, a traditional Belgian-style white beer, or biere blanche, is named after its striking pale color. Blanche de Brooklyn, formerly a seasonal product, is now available year-round. White beers are made with a traditional dose of coriander seed and Curacao orange peel added during the boil for extra snappy flavor. Brewmaster Garrett Oliver also adds his own secret selection of spices of Blanche de Brooklyn.

Good Witbier. Had this a while back, but forgot it, so had to get it once I saw it. Very pale yellow, hazy appearance. I expected a larger head. OK fruity, yeasty, malty aroma. Not too overpowering. Taste is very good. Great balacnce of yeast and spices. Not quite as good as Hoegaarden, but def a good WIt.

Pale light yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma of spice(coriander, pepper, cloves) and citrus. Mild wheat malt flavor with a touch of lemon and coriander. Not as complex as say a Hoegaarden, but I found it more drinkable and refreshing.

A good example of the style, I sampled this direct at the brewery in Brooklyn. Lacks a little bit of what makes Hoegaarden the best. Very smooth and a beautiful color, but a little too mellow bordering on flavorless. It feels good going down tho.

On tap at the Blind Tiger Ale House, NYC June 2004: Nice light koriander and acidic nose. Little greenish and orange color. Nice spicey - pepper, koriander and salt taste with some grape notes. Very good.

Cloudy yellow color with thin off white head. Nice aromas of light citrus, mellow malt and white pepper. Taste is like a weiss, light and refreshing. I’d rather this than a Hoegaarten any day.

I was really amazed that this is a New World beer - tastes like something right out of Beglium. Not an extraordinary wit, but solid for sure. Cloudy hazy wit beer appearance. Smooth but thin lemony malt up front and notes of vanilla, with a slightly spiced finish - cloves. Great balance.
