Commercial Description:
Blanche De Brooklyn, a traditional Belgian-style white beer, or biere blanche, is named after its striking pale color. Blanche de Brooklyn, formerly a seasonal product, is now available year-round. White beers are made with a traditional dose of coriander seed and Curacao orange peel added during the boil for extra snappy flavor. Brewmaster Garrett Oliver also adds his own secret selection of spices of Blanche de Brooklyn.

12/02/2007: Blanche de Brooklyn has an cloudy, unfiltered pale lemon yellow color with an extremely dense, rocky white head. The head leaves thick lacing on the glass and there is an lively amount of carbonation that is appropriate for the style. The aroma also fits the style well as it contains lots of wheat, a bit of spice (light coriander), and a very faint hint of orange peel. The creamy wheat flavor contains some banana and sprinkle of spice (clove) and grated orange zest. This beer is somewhat creamy on the palate and has a medium body. Overall this is an extremely drinkable brew. However, I think it might remind me more of a German Hefe than a Belgian Wit. Either way, it is quite good!

1/2 gallon growler fill from Party Town in Florence, Kentucky. Rating #97 for this beer...

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Hazy light golden color with a dense, frothy white head. Sweet estery banana and wheaty nose has a hint of coriander spice and great authenticity. Body starts fairly full, but only lightly sweet with a nice orange citrus and coriander clove spice. Very smooth, flavorful and true to style. A great witbier.

On tap at Mad Mex - State College. Pours a bit too clear in pale straw and almond flesh. A top fading, rocky clean white. Aroma is a rich, bready yeast. Heavy on the wheat and spiced oils. Nice. Flavor is a bubbly, fresh, bright and active clean wheat juice, sweetened white tea and calming chamomile. Mingle ample bread and spice with a real refreshing muscatel, lemon water and almond mist for a real refreshing blow. The hops are a fine point of this beer and I am impressed with Brooklyn consistent good use of Noble hops for real gummy, resin-heavy presentation. Wonderful utilization and a fine end to the beer. Also, good yeast character and dryness. Could use some more chewiness and density from the wheat, but overall maintains decent nuance through a sprightly gulpable body.

Sweet, citrus and slight banana aroma. Flavor is about the same with a nice, spice flavor to it. Full, distinct taste to it.

Wheaty honey aromas. Pours cloudy yellow with a thin white head. A little tartness, citrusy, light, though i don’t detect any of the spices. Still a good session beer!
