Commercial Description:
Blanche De Brooklyn, a traditional Belgian-style white beer, or biere blanche, is named after its striking pale color. Blanche de Brooklyn, formerly a seasonal product, is now available year-round. White beers are made with a traditional dose of coriander seed and Curacao orange peel added during the boil for extra snappy flavor. Brewmaster Garrett Oliver also adds his own secret selection of spices of Blanche de Brooklyn.

On tap at Tyler’s, Durham, in the company of Immy. I’m generally a fan of Brooklyn and have enjoyed many of their draft specials. But this is a mostly unremarkable wit. A handsome enough golden body, with a very mild spice aroma, the flavor and palate suffer from a lack of complexity. The usual suspects are there in the flavor but it’s fairly thin and anonymous. Could be the end of the keg, in which case I’ll rerate.

On tap. Poured a medium and cloudy yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves and other spices, citrus, and light yeast. Tastes of spices, bananas, citrus, and very light wheat.

Draft, Barley’s Taproom, Greenville SC. Pale straw color, cloudy, with white head. Nose of lemon, bread, grass, hay, and something musty, like dust/mold/woods. Flavors of sweet and tart lemon citrus, dry, sharp light malt, and some drying yeast in the finish. Very full and smooth palate. Really delightful stuff.

a respectable Belgian Wit. Light and tasty, though nothing out of the ordinary. Frankly, I think Mr. Oliver is way overrated.

On tap at Teresa’s Next Door. Pours a hazy/milky yellow with an average bubbly white head. Aroma of lemon, grassy, orange and wheat. Flavors of the same...kind on the grainy side...Cheerios.
