Pours pitch black with a medium tan head that falls away to a tan ring of lace around the top of the beer. Aroma is light smokiness, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is moderately smoky roasted malt, bitter sweet chocolate with a light smoky finish. Very nice job on this one, very enjoyable. Damn! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2009 From bottle, @ BCTC. Pours a dark brown, almost black, body with a small fizzy brown head. Smells just like I’d expect it, nice light bacon and campfire smokiness with chocolate and roast. The flavor is really very lightly smoky with some ashy burnt and roasty malt. Dry, with a bit of astringency on the finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy spritzy carbonation. Finishes dry and roasty. Decent, but it could have used a good bit more smokiness. argo0 (7008), Washington DC, USA

Smoked chocolaty aroma- richly malty with a peat and earthy wood campfire character. Chewy/silky feel. Smoky flavor- not over the top- just some woody peat and roasted chocolate malts. With a toasted lingering finish. Nice and earthy. A well done Smoked. yobdoog (1533), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

Bottle at BCTC. Pours a brown to black with a thin tan head. Smoke and caramel on the nose. The smoke has held up nicely. Thin to medium bodied, some more smoke and roast. Finishes with a light bitterness.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Thanks to Mark for bringing this one to the BB Big Sound Release- you’re the man! Pours dark porter black with a tan head. Nose is smoke: ashtray and charcoal, and some noticeable dark chocolate and some coffee bitterness. Flavor is similar with mellow smoke, enough to notice but not enough to prohibit drinkability. Medium bodied beer with a bit of a stick mouthfeel. Overall: interesting and NOT my style at all.
