Crisp, tangy aroma. Nutty, grassy hop infusion. Malty aroma, lots of balance. Sweetens as it warms, as evidence of the ample malts. Would definitely get again, wish they had it year-round. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2004 Draft: Clear coppery peach. Dense, creamy, off-white halo. Extremely coarse pine needle aroma coupled with white pepper, reefer, mulch, and nutty malts. Masked notes of orange peel and hop leaf. Soft, sappy body. Loose carbonation. Flavorful blend of lemon oil and toasted, nutty malts. Fairly empty middle as the grassy hops wane and touches of honey and medicine surface. Toasted malts regain their momentum and take-on a fibrous, grainy note with a light hint of coconut husks. Juicy, round hops accent the honeyed malt tones. Abrupt toasty, understatedly hopped, round finish, yet mushier than it is firm with ensuing orange pulp, graham flavors and piney, flowery hop belches. Needs a firmer body and less mushiness to carry these very nice hop flavors. All in all, a pretty nice seasonal.
