PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2007 Growler. Really missing something. The PNW hops are used well here, but there was hardly any malt! The aroma began with plenty of resiny citrus hop, a tad floral. Flavor much the same, with an extremely light, almost watery body, leading to a firm bitterness in the finish, with a lingering grapefruit. Nice amber color with a fluffy head. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Mar 28, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark orange with a white head. The aroma was caramel and grapefruit. The taste was toast with some bread crust and toffee. There was also a hint of hops. The was decently bitter, but no way this should be called an IPA. Possibly, it coudl be an English style IPA. tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jul 28, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Copper with no head. High citrus hop aroma with some bready malt aroma in the background. Tons of hop flavor. Bitter as hell but not harsh. A touch fruity. Medium body. Pleasant. Not extraordinary, but well made nonetheless. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 12, 2005 BIG flowery aroma comes with this reddish-amber one, followed with the promised big hop flavors ... dry and robust. This was the best I had in 5 weekend brewpub stops. Excellent. TAR (2087), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA May 13, 2004 Cask-conditioned: Speckled, mucky pumpkin. Loose, spongy, off-white head. Slick body, soft and round. Mellow flavors of orange pulp and soft floral tones. Mildly sweet maltiness smoothens the subtle citrus rind sharpness. Trace acidity at the center alongside juicy apricots. Finishes a tad spicier and more assertive than when it started, with sweet honeyed malts and orange pulp. Predictable, boring C-hop aroma and far too little maltiness to beef up the body. Very average.
