Commercial Description:
Heather Ale is the oldest style we brew. It was first brewed in what is now Scotland, around 2000 B.C. It uses the purple flower of the heather plant instead of hops. Herbal, with a honey-like sweetness.

Pours a clear gold with a thin, creamy, white head. The nose is sweet and floral, the palate light to medium-bodied, with soft carbonation and a fairly clean finish. Sweet, floral and lightly spicy/herbal, this is a very drinkable brew and one of the better session ales that I’ve sampled at Blind Tiger. If I was looking for a pint to enjoy while watching a game, this might be one that I’d turn to on my next visit.

Golden with a red tinge and moderately active. First impression was that this was very Bud-like ... fruity malt, hint of maybe apple? An everyday beer for everyman. OK, not great.

Sweet, pleasantly floral aroma, some distinctly honeyish notes and traces of doughy yeast, some heather apparent as well. Clear rosy-golden color, lacking visible effervescence and consequently much in the way of head or lacing. Pale, sweet, malty character accented with plenty of heather flower, may be lightly hopped as well since the finish displays a light bitterness and some light, berryish fruitiness. Palate is light, smooth and oily, low effervescence and a light-medium body. Pretty tasty on a warm day and an interesting to find here.
