swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 20, 2009 GABF 2009. Darker black pour. Big roasty aroma. Roasted & chocolate malts, mild coffee. Nice porter Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 13, 2009 Draft. Pours a black body with a tan head. Roast y malt all over this, with a drier more powered esk flavored coco and chocolate malt accent. Roasted malt with a mild coffee bitterness. Good. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 12, 2009 On tap at GABF 2009. This was a great coffee beer and is very underrated on this site in my opinion. Darkest brown in color with a lasting tan head. Aroma is awesome with coffee and roast as well as a little vanilla. Flavor is mainly coffee, supported by roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Palate is smooth and creamy with medium body and not very much astringency for a coffee beer. Very good overall. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 25, 2009 On tap at GTMW. Poured deep brown with a well-retained cap of tan head. The aroma picked up lots and lots of roasty coffee with lesser vanilla and chocolate.. sweet and one-dimensional. The flavor was also all about the coffee, sporting a moderate level of dry roast to it.. earth and more coffee provided a light bitterness around the tongue.. cold coffee finish. Light-medium bodied and dry as mentioned on the palate.. a bit grainy. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 15, 2009 Sampled via roving 64-oz growler during Dark Lord Day ’09. Pours a nearly opaque cola brown brew with a creamy tan head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing and a light tan ring. Aroma of sweet brewed coffee, a hint of roasted dark malt, some flowery hops, tobacco, and a touch of chocolate. Taste texture is smooth, creamy with a toasted dark malt and coffee flavor. Finish has a slight coffee aftertaste that quickly disappears.

beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Feb 27, 2009 Tap at KCBM competition. Pours clear but dark brown with a strong tan head that never fully fades. Aroma is thick and fumy coffee... well and basically that is it. Taste is a lot of seltzer and mineral coming in and hiding some of that coffee, which is still there but mixing with other flavors. Some prune and tobacco in there as well. Its decent but a bit too aggressive on the nose and then alternately masked in the flavor. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jan 16, 2009 Updated: Jan 17, 2009tap at brewpub One thing that stood out was the taste of coffee wow this poured a dark brown color with a very very nice tan head. Smooth great beer. Very drinkable beer.
