Cask@Pigs Ear Fest. A lightly spicey porter, with some light sweetness and dark fruit characters. There is also some roasted malt and chocolate malt. Not so bad.

Gravity at the Pig’s Ear Beer festival 4/12/207. Near black with a slight tan head. Bitter chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Flavour started with some sweet dark fruit and liquorice before a smokey tobacco finish. Very enjoyable.

A Mes rate: Ramsgate beer fest. Dark and slightly roasty. Not particulaly porter like. Kind of half way between that and a mild if you ask me. Tangy and sweet then a lovely smokey finish where it earns its porter tag. Not bad.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival 06. Black beer with malty head. Dry bitter porter with an oaky, woody, smoked background. Juicy at times and a touch of liquorice. Finishes sweetly. I enjoyed it but wouldn’t want too much.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2006, Ramsgate. Very dark brown with ruby edges. Thin beige head. Bit of liquorice/coffee and some choc on the aroma. Quite carbonated in mouth. Some sourness and more coffee in mouth, syrupy liquorice on the finish. Some sour damson fruit. Not a bad porter but a bit too syrupy and sour for me.
