GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Oct 11, 2009 A very sweet ale. There is some good malt to it, a bit of citrus hops, bis but overall it’s a cloying sweetness here. I wouldn’t seek this one out really. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Sep 6, 2009 On draught at the High Country Beer Fest, it pours a copper-amber into the glass, with a nice eggshell head. The nose has some citrus, roasts and floral notes. The flavors are of roasted caramel malt, some muddy citrus, and dry-hopping to close the finish. The texture is mild, with crisp carbonation levels and a medium body. Average APA... it won’t set the world on fire, and I don’t know if I’d really seek it out again. marcus (1822), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 2, 2009 This copper ale poured with a decent off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a hearty roasted malt flavor with a bit of carbonation and hop bitterness. A mediocre pale ale, but it’s drinkable. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Sep 1, 2009 Bottle from a local Grocery Outlet store. Pours copper with not much white head. Aromas of lightly roasted malt and some fruity/citrus hop. Medium body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is light roast caramel, and a fair amount of spice - like grassy/citrus hop. Nicely bitter. Spicey enough to make it enjoyable. Finishes with a touch of light fruit. Better than a number of Lion Brewery productions. italianjohn (338), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 10, 2009 Poured an amber/golden color with light white head that went away fast has a fruity aroma .... sweet malt then very floral hops and earthy taste especially if drank a little warmer ... nothing spectacular here but drinkable ... although i’m pissed that i traveled to NC from PA and i’m sampling an NC beer made in PA keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Jul 17, 2009 On tap at Lucky 12 in Nags Head. Amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt, bread. Flavor is the same with a hop balance and a dry finish. Slightly better than average. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 25, 2009 Pours a translucent pale amber with a one finger offwhite head. The nose is earthy, English feel, mild sweetness, bready, buttery/diacetyl. The flavor is mildly crisp, sweet and malty, caramel, hidden hop character. Sweet mildly crisp palate. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA May 4, 2009 Oh, bow, something is wrong here. Sampled on draught at World Beer Fest in Raleigh. Light amber/gold pour with thin head. Butter/diacetyl on the nose. Gross. Aubreya called it well when she said "tastes like a penny farted!" Yikes!
