12 ounce bottle from... somewhere. Pours a clear copper color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus hops and muddled grainy malts. Taste is caramel, butter and light leafy hops. Medium bodied, Decent.

Taste 3/9 bottle. Looks: Clear gold/copper body with a one finger white top. Aroma: Grain/sweet malt. Taste: Grain and malt. Has almost no hops presence and has a strange cloying yeasty finish. Medicinal.

The first element in the aroma is sweet malt with a bit of a metallic bite. There is also some grassy hops. The appearance is gold with an amber hue. The head blows up pretty fast and falls even faster. The flavor is really well balanced between sweet malt and hops. The palate is really smooth from carbonation. I was really thirsty when I drank this beer and it was very refreshing and quite flavorful at the same time. It’s not a standout beer but it’s a very solid one.

February 2009 Beer of the Month Club

Aroma: Citrus, hops, both light
Appearance: Light gold, slight cloudiness
Flavor:Not much there, lacks hops, slight bitterness, slightness of flavor
Palate: Light body, watery
Overall Impression: Ok Ale, I would prefer more flavor/hops/identity from an American Pale

Bottle, thanks to Mei. Gold color, with some white film on top. Aroma is wet bread, a little sweetness and rye malt. Flavor is somewhat like a pilsner, crystal malt, eastern european hops. Somewhat metallic mouthfeel, but decently crisp finish.

I agree with some of the others that this beer simply hasn’t enogh strength to compete with the traditional American ale, but when considered on it’s own without comparison, I found it quite good. It has a mild but pleasant aroma and the flavor, though mild, is quite good. I found it very refreshing and was moved to have more than one. I have bought it again and will continure to do so on occasion
