Oct 21, 2009 An earthy brew -color, aroma, and flavor are all for lack of a better term "brown". Mild (very mild) chocolate notes and slightly sweet. Didn’t knock my socks off but it was pretty good nonetheless.

Oct 12, 2009 12oz bottle. Okay... here we go: Pours a murky dull charcoal rootbeer color with an off-white thin froth. Aroma of chocolate cough syrup and biscuits. Flavor is biscuits and chocolate toffee, corn syrup, burnt... blech.

Aug 24, 2009 Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Brown and red with creamy off- white head. Awful alc aroma, roast and mollases and cherry as it warms. Medicinal and cherry juice flavor with some roast and weird alc, it tastes like robetusson or fake maple syrup, gross, just gross. Syrupy with slight chalk body. Bad bad bad beer, you make me feel so bad and to quote davinci "blucreek alt, meaning the ALTernative to good".

Jul 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Dark orange-hued brown with a nice off white head. Fresh brewery aroma, some solid crystal malt coming through. Smooth, medium bodied. The low ABV really makes it incredibly easy to down, but there is still a touch of quality that stands out, making it an enjoyable beer to just sip on too. Smooth dark malt flavor, with a mild bitter earthiness. Toasty malt finish. Right on, but Id think a little more strength wouldnt have hurt.

Feb 26, 2009 From the bottle, pours a hazy dark reddish color with a thin white bubbly head. Aroma is of sour apples, and some caralmel malt. Taste is malty, some brwon sugar and molasses. It’s smooth, clean, and a bit of a sweetly bitter finish. Maybe that’s the chocolate the commercial description talks about. I think this is a pretty good beer.

Jan 9, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009Hazy dark brown pour, medium tan head with a spotty lace. Chocolate aroma. Flavors are like malt syrup on the front, a little off-sour here, then finishing with chocolate notes. Somewhat thin, but effervescent in the mouth.

Nov 29, 2008 Translucent burnt siena with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of caramel, molasses and brown sugar. Taste of malt, molasses, caramel and brown sugar. Thick and grainy and has somewhat of a nutty and spicy finish. Mildly astringent.

Nov 20, 2008 very sweet maly nose with clight grain notes. murky brown appearance with little head that fades quickly. smooth caramel sweetness with a biting mouthfeel. If I think of eating colors, this beer truly tastes brown. very earthy. An interesting pint, but I see why this style isn’t oftern brewed for mass consumption
