Commercial Description:
A smooth, well-balanced ale brewed with pure water, malts, hops, and yeast and then cold conditioned in the tradition of a classic German Altbier. The drinkable nature of this beer and the roasted chocolate and coffee notes present in this beer make it a wonderfully warming beer. A subtle malt sweetness, distinctive German hops aroma and taste, and subtle roasted finish make this one of our favorite styles of beer.

Poursd a deep mahogany colour. The bartender described it as the least popular because its not as "fancy" as the other BluCreek brew. Whatever that means? But I found it to be pretty decent. A thicker body, heavy full mouthfeel with soft chocolate, smoke and nutty flavors.

Thin head of very fine bubbles. Dusty dry leaves aroma with some light roasted grains, chocolate malts and nuts. Color is a dark brown. More chocolate, crusty bread, nuts and a bit of smoke. Grainy palate. Finishes roasty with a lingering smokeyness. A decent brew.

Pours reddish brown with a mostly receding wispy tan head. Aroma of toasted malts, bread, toffee. Taste is toffee, caramel, bread dough, sticky malt. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation. A nice and bready alt.

Pours dark brown with light tan head. Chocolate and nut aroma, with a flavor to match... with more malt.

Tasty! There are hints of coffee, toffee, chocolate, and I think ice tea in the aroma and flavor. Nice dark brown with an off white head. Smoother than I remember altbiers being. A nice session ale.

Bottle: Pours a deep brown with an off white head. Aroma, toasted malts, some fruits, caramel, and chocolate. Flavor, sweet roasty malts, chocolate, some coffee hints, a little nutty. Very smooth and drinkable, a nice light roastiness on the finish. There is something off on the tail end that I can’t place though.
