Commercial Description:
Amber Ale brewed with Wild Maine Blueberries.
An amber ale brewed with all natural ingredients, including real wild blueberries and wild blueberry juice from the State of Maine this beer has a light crisp body and subtle wild blueberry aroma and taste, but is not sweet like many fruit beers. These characteristics have made the beer popular with all age groups, especially young adults and make the beer a popular part of many beer cocktails and mixed beer drinks. For instance, many people enjoy the beer as a part of a “Black and Blue;” an alternative to a “Black and Tan".

the aroma of this beer is wonderful and berrylicious, the flavor however was disappointing to me. there was a hint of blueberry, but not enough to matter. i didn’t want some sickly sweet kool-aid berry weiss type beer, but a blueberry ale should taste alot like blueberries

On tap at the Parkway Pub in Lanesboro, MN. Golden color with a white head. Strong blueberry aroma. Does not taste sweet. Rapid finish without an aftertaste, which is probably a good thing.

Pours a reddish brown. Aroma has a slight blueberry hint. Flavor was more of a root beer flavor up front (quite nasty) with a blueberry aftertaste.

Amber color. Pours very litttle head. Very light carbonation. Aroma is of blueberry with notes of malt in the background. Somewhat tart. Not really smooth and to sweet to be drinkable for me.

Wow, this really does have blueberries in it. When I poured the beer, my friend sitting ten feet away commented on the aroma of sweet blueberries. Taste is strongly blueberry, but it is a taste well supported by toast and cornflake malt, and a lightly biting hop. Heavy carbonation makes me think of blueberry sodapop. Taste becomes skunky in your mouth, but the aftertatse warms back to sugar-coated blueberry.

I just dropped a bottle of this all on my kitchen floor...smashed into a thousand pieces. On the plus side, my kitchen now has a lovely blueberry aroma. It’s not as bad tasting as I thought it would be. It’s not like a lambic, more like a razzwheat beer.

Clear golden amber with a small off white head that quickly fades, absolutely no lacing either. Sweet blueberry pie aroma, all I can taste are the blueberries. Light body with a watery mouthfeel, finishes sweet, this one has a funny aftertaste just like the herbal ale, I don’t want more than one of these either.

Tastes just like a blueberry muffin in a bottle. A soda like fizz with a funky mouthfeel. I put a shot of vodka in mine, whiched cut the sweetness and gave her a little kick. Serve ice cold.
