Commercial Description:
Amber Ale brewed with Wild Maine Blueberries.
An amber ale brewed with all natural ingredients, including real wild blueberries and wild blueberry juice from the State of Maine this beer has a light crisp body and subtle wild blueberry aroma and taste, but is not sweet like many fruit beers. These characteristics have made the beer popular with all age groups, especially young adults and make the beer a popular part of many beer cocktails and mixed beer drinks. For instance, many people enjoy the beer as a part of a “Black and Blue;” an alternative to a “Black and Tan".

Light amber colour. Very candyish, artifical aroma and palate. Cloying, one-dimensional cough syrup.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with CaptainCougar (thanks!). Poured a medium and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. As soon as I popped the cap off this one, I could smell blueberries. Aromas of blueberries, a little yeasty/crustiness, and Welch’s Grape Juice. Tastes of blueberries and grains.

An average beer with a great blueberry taste. The fresh Maine blueberries would be better accented with a more distinct and less carbonated pale ale, yet Blu Creek is one of the better fruit beers I have tried. Re-rate: Tried alongside Sweetwater Blue and found this to have much more character and flavor.

Bottle... Hazy light amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head and floaties galore. Blueberries, black tea and a subtle note of beef stock in the aroma. Well-balanced, but thin with moderate tanginess. Light-bodied and dry with lively carbonation. Crisp finish.

The SweeTart candy version of blueberries (which I already don’t care for) made it difficult for me to convince myself to bring this beer to my lips. But I did. Wish I didn’t. Atop a bland malty taste is a slightly bitter, artificial berry flavor that coated my mouth with a plastic sweetness and generated a quiet churning in my belly. There’s an industrial bitter/sweet taste to the finish.
Nice hazy amber body with a slender off-white head, by the way.

Amber color with a smaller light cream colored head. Blueberry extract aroma along with a touch of malt. A pale ale with a blueberry hint. The aroma seem to flavor this one more than the actual taste.

Nice dark-amber color, with little head; I was a bit disturbed by all the big bubbles flowing up from the bottom in a way quite reminiscent of soft drinks; Nose is the best part, blueberry cobbler mixed with gingerbread! But this is spoiled by a slight medicinal tinge, and the flavor goes downhill with way too much carbonation, though the blueberry cobbler taste is still present, with some nice malts. Gets a bit weak at the end, except for that cola-like bubbling! So-so.

Hazy, sickly copper with a light yellowish tan head. The smell reminds me of blueberry pancakes with some dandelions. The taste is like eating raw grain with just a hint of blueberry flavor. There is a toasted bread character that is kind of pleasing, but it doesn’t match well with the extra carbonation and overall super dry taste. It’s ok, but barely even a fruit beer.
