Aroma is papery with grass, lightly spiced. It’s bad. Flavor matches. Light bodied, lightly offensive. The spices helped it, but everything else was so bad it didn’t matter. Next please. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jan 21, 2007 From a twist off 12 oz. bottle with no freshness date.
Poured a cloudy reddish orangey golden with a foamy, bubbly topped white head that settled into a thin lacing.
A confusing nose, sweet ginger ale soda, earthy, medicinal herbs, a subtle floral honey and grainy.
Light, moderate carbonation and a softy crisp with a little dirty roughness in the palate, thin medium bodied mouthfeel.
Not very pleasant tasting, the honey malts and the ginseng mesh into a sour medicinal flavor, earthy, dirty grains, some herbal spicy leafiness, and a sour medicinal herb, grainy finish.
Moving to Madison hasn’t help this brew, not recommended. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Oct 14, 2006 Updated: Jun 3, 2008The aroma has malt, herbs, and musty smells from the basement. The appearance is amber with a small but persistent head. The flavor is malty, and herbal with some spice that makes it taste a little like a chili beer. The palate is thin. The aftertaste has vegetables. Overall I find it unappealing. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 1, 2006 Pours a light-hazed golden with coppery shadows and a slight, white head off a vigorous pour. Immediate aroma of apple juice with a light accompaniment of florals. Flavor finds a hint of fruitiness to a base of sweet malt which proceed to finish on a mild herbal bitterness. Tingly mouthfeel. Drank one in the morning after my coffee for an additional pick-me-up. Not much happened outside of my upper palate feeling really dried out.

| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 19, 2006 It’s got sort of an herbal, malty flavor, that is extremely unpleasant. You can tell there are herbs in this beer (can I call it that?). I mean, I can’t describe this. Do yourself a favor, if you somehow get a free bottle of this stuff, pop the cap off, and pour directly into the sink. Or find someone who enjoys herbal tea flavored beer. What the hell are they trying to do with this? Ughsmash (4074), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Bottled. Poured a lighter amber with a quickly-receding cap of loose off-white head. The nose found grassy hops, caramel, and an odd array of spices (more floral in nature)... The flavor had a tacky caramel/toffee base, floral & grassy hops, soap, and earthy/grainy multivitamins... odd. Tacky on the palate with sticky bitterness around the edges. Light-bodied. Interesting but not very good. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 21, 2006 Pours clean copper with lots of carbonation and a lard off-white head that is soapy and uneven. Aromas is grainy malt, slightly musty and light spice. Medium / light body with light carbonation. Starts with grainy malt but is quickly overtaken by carbonation and huge metallic taste. It is lightly sweet and a bit medicinal. There are bits of herbal tea qualities in there as well. This is drinkable, but not very good. RAYBOY01 (1867), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 21, 2006 Weird science experiment gone amok...but only slightly. Some light bitterness upfront, fading to a hint of floral soapiness. I don’t really taste the herbs, fortunately...but I could use a little stimulation right about now...so I hope they’re ready to kick in soon.
