Appearance is a dark dark brown. Flavor is dry and dark. Oh lord. Smokey. Tastes like liquid smoke and coffee grounds. The smoke flavor is overwhelming. This is hardly palatable. Ugh.

Bomber. brown black with almost no head... Aroma caramel, light chocolate, light coffee, and generally toasty. Flavor is sweet chocolate dry smokey... a little coffee feel. light bitter after taste with subtle bight. Easy stout.

Pours an opaque black with a stringy-lacing froth of beige head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel, molasses and a touch of butterscotch with a touch of coffee. Body starts rich and oily with good sweetness and toasted oats before a crisp, bittersweet dark chocolate finish. A pretty good stout.

Sampled straight from the bright beer tank at the brewery. Roast aroma with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Dark brown almost opaque with a frothy tan head. Flavor follows the aroma with almost a smoky roast malt quality and hint of woodiness. Medium light body and mouth feel with a dry slightly bitter finish. Nice treat to start off the day (this was a breakfast beer).

Pours a deep black color with a thin tan head. Milk chocolaty aroma with some sense of coffee. Some caramel in the flavor. Milky as well. Roasted coffee and malt notes. Fairly decent stout for a local. But could be a little more potent.

Bomber. Poured transparent brown with no head sticking around. The aroma had sour chocolatey notes upfront that were an unfortunate hint of infection.. some drawn caramel and herbal notes beneath. The flavor was greatly influenced by sourness again with caramel and chocolate again at the core.. finished with dry-roasted cocoa and more sourness. Medium-bodied and need I mention sour on the palate with low carbonation.. not good.

Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, dark fruit, brown sugar. Tastes of chocolate, some sweetness and a hint of tartness on the finish. Very drinkable.

22 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Richmond, VA. This past beer’s I’ve tried have been fantastically horrible, so I guess here is a chance for redemption. Pours a dark molasses colored brown with faint wisps of head. The aroma is nutty roasted malts with some molasses and metallic notes. Taste is roasted malts, brown sugar and coffee grounds. Watery texture.
