Commercial Description:
This has both the ingredients of an English Porter and an Irish Stout. We blend both together to distort your loyalty towards one or the other. This dark ale is made with an ample amount of British Pale malt along with brown, roasted, chocolate, and crystal malts from England. AAU’s 30

On tap at Blue Canoe. This was my favorite of the beers I had there. It is like a porter with a nice earthy/nutty and roasty malt presence with a curious little side current of pine/resin, which makes it interesting and unique. Oh, it was a predictable brown with reddish highlights, had a small head and had a whiff of pine in the nose. Maybe a little watery, but still good.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Nice roasty smoky porter with light bitter-sour tang. Smoky roasty burnt acrid nose. Dark brown-black clear with thin tan lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Well-balanced porter with subtle roasted sweetness with a lot of tangy bitterness.

This is supposed to be the recipe used by 4 Sons when I rated it years ago, however I found this beer to be much more drinkable if not tame. Nice roasted grain flavor is subdued with a good hop balance, not the overpowering hop presence that I remember from the former. I nice drinking porter, er...stout....er...porter...er..distorter!
