Commercial Description:
Note: Formerly Four Sons Heavy K.

You’ve had it before and have it again as a change in name only. A heavy Scotch Ale. Made with only the best and most expensive Scottish Pale Malt a nice blend of Belgian Biscuit and English roasted barley to add color and softness to a malty sweet nectar of brewing experience.

On tap at Blue Canoe. Brown body, red highlights, little head. Aromas and flavor are similar and exhibit a lot of sweetness throughout. Maple syrup, brown sugar, and nuts with a little bit of a fig presence.

Never had the Four Sons version, but Im sure the recipe is similar. The beer is somewhat sneaky. The pour is a nice brownish, chocolate. THe aroma is baked bread and small bit of roast. Thin body, very easy drinking. Seems like the alcohol blends perfectly with the flavor. Not a fan of the style, but the beer.

This is a really smooth ale that goes down easy. Nice sweet finish. Not much to look at but one of their better beers.

Good hearty ale, has good color although head disappears quickly. Difinite alcohol taste to back up the 6.8%. Overall a very nice ale.

DRAUGHT sweet malty flavor, not enough hops to balance though, creamy off-white head diminishes rapidly, dark amber in color, finish has a touch of astringency and definate alcohol taste

A scotch ale, this was drinkable but not really on for the style. It was almost estery, with a distinct apple note. The alcohol was too apparent, but the rest of the malt did its best to compensate, with figs, honey, toasty biscuits and a sweet finish. Soothing, but it seemed too young. Maybe some ageing would mellow the alcohol note. Excellent firm mouthfeel.
