I always try this when it comes around that time every year, and I’m always disappointed. It hits pretty far from the mark and Dan makes some better stuff! heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The body was dark gold with a white head. The aroma was grapefruit with some glazed donuts and pears to balance that out. The taste was bright grapefruit, especially at the start. Then I also got some almonds. Nicely balanced. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Advertised as 32 IBU’s and 5.1% AbV. Poured a slightly hazy orange color. Head was paper thin and white. The aroma was of caramel, grass, and fruit, including apple and a hint of cherry. Dry on the tongue with very mild hop bitterness that peaked at about 2 out of 10. Tasted of caramel and graham cracker. I thought there were also some noble hops. Not bad, but strange. JMerritt (1318), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2005 Hazy orange with a medium-sized white head that is partially diminishing. Pine resin, apricots, and sweet cookie aroma. Moderately bitter with notes of wet hay and a slight astrigency. Finish is slightly alcoholic; they didn’t have the abv listed, but I’d guess this clocks in around 6-7%
