GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Mar 7, 2008 Very dark for a brown ale; deep tan head. There’s a lot of malt up front but it never quite comes together. There’s hints of chocolate and licorice in it but it stays two dimensional. A thin body to it and a very thin flavor at the end--seems like potential up front but fizzles out altogether. Crash (447), Macomb, Illinois, USA May 3, 2004 Red color with no head. It had a light grainy taste and a little heavier in the after taste. Not much taste in this one. JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA May 2, 2004 Dark red in color. Next to no head at all. Light malt aroma, slightly cereally. Mildly fruity, pumpernickel bread flavor. Decent carbonation level, but a tad thin. Sour grainy finish.
