drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2009 Another solid Belgian from Dan at Blue Cat. Aroma is big esters and bubblegum w/ hints of alcohol. Flavor is yummy esters with a lingering hop bitterness in the back of the throat and an almost tannic dustiness that sits on the lips. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 26, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Served in a tulip glass. Poured a slightly hazy golden-light orange color. The head was foamy, white, and reduced to a thin film after a minute or so. Some lace was left behind on the glass at the end. Very hefeweizen-ish aroma of banana greater than clove, subdued lemon, and a hint of champaign. I could smell the banana as soon as the barkeep pulled the tap handle. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with carbonation on the higher end of the spectrum. Mild to moderate hop bitterness of about 3-4 out of 10. Clove and banana came out in the flavor in equal proportions along with a bit of apricot. Subdued caramel and cereal grain malts were present throughout, but were most prominent toward the end. Pretty good beer.
