Commercial Description:
So named because it had to endure long sea voyages from breweries in England to outposts on the fringes of the British Empire. IPA is a high alcohol, well-hopped brew to enable it to last the voyage and not spoil. 50 IBU's, 15.38 Plato, 6.3% ABV

before my nose can get to the glass (bottle from belmont station) the hop aroma is roiling over, the citrus and pine neither clashing or blending, co-existing. a lsightly greenish light amber w/ a too quick off white head, a little flat on the tongue. flavor stay with coexistence, though the hops have the upper hand, the honey caramel never goes away. finishis tongue numbing & a little sticky.

Tasted at the 9th Annual Bistro IPA Festival (2006). This IPA pours a orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange and fruity with a hint of cinnamon. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are fruity, orange and caramel. Hops are grapefruity, floral and herbal. Medium to light bitterness for an IPA. Lots of orange flavors. Good carbonation. Good session IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Filtered-clear, leathery brown with the dense, fine head characteristic of all of Blue Frog’s beers. Lightly malty (bready) aroma with satsumas. Overpowering hoppiness in flavor - here the hops presence builds up to a rats-nest of oranginess and pine along with a leatheriness/earthiness. Plenty of lingering bitterness throughout the finish, but not overdone. Finishes with more orange amd some husky malt notes. Interesting - quite a different IPA.

10/18/08 On draught at the brewpub, Fairfield, Ca. Aroma is light hop flora forward with moderate sweetness and a faint earthy background. Appearance is clear gold with a moderate maintained white head. Flavor is quite low on bittering initially, but then opens up to good complexity with no harshness and a fairly good malt balance. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a moderate carb texture. Overall, very easy drinking .

Hazy orange gold body with a large lightly off white head from the bomber. A nicely powerful citrus and perfume smelling body is set off with some woody tones. There is also some peanut character. The taste is orange peel bitter with some almonds. There is also a sharp vegetable quality. Decent, but smells better than it tastes.

Bomber pours deep clear gold with thin white head. The aroma is moderate with malty sweetness, some modest citrus, spice and a touch of earthiness. The taste has a pulse of lemon tartness moving into citrus, a bit of grassiness, pine and a sense of floral hops. It has a nice backbone of malts. Decent enough IPA but thin and seems a bit lacking in depth.
